Sporting Lisbon FC
The Sporting Clube de Portugal, known outside Portugal as Sporting Lisbon has turned 100 years old in 2006. Established in 1902 as Sport Club de Belas, Sporting Lisbon took its name in 1906. Based on the capital of Portugal, Sporting Lisbon FC (Football Club) is the most popular department.
Sporting Lisbon FC is currently the third club in the Portuguese overall championship and one of the greatest European football clubs. Sporting Lisbon FC has been 22 times National Champion and won 13 Portugal Cups, one European Cup of Cup Winners and five Super Cups. Sporting Lisbon FC participated 43 times at UEFA clubs competitions, from which 12 times at the Champions League.

One of the historical results in Sporting Lisbon FC history was 7-1 with Benfica in 1986. Benfica Lisbon is still a major rival for Sporting Lisbon FC and has been a dominant force in Portuguese football since the 1930s, having won national championship and cup titles.
In the last ten years Sporting Lisbon FC made structural transformation and became from a financial standpoint self-sufficient. Sporting Lisbon FC' s new stadium and new headquarters are part of the modernization project.
